Plans for Future Development

Five Step Plan

01

Complete M.Ed

The completion of my M.Ed marks a significant first step in pursuing my future career goals. A Master's degree opens up opportunities for greater responsibility and gives me the pedigree to teach college students. I would like to pursue educating students at the college level by teaching online classes. This would also further my goal of becoming more familiar with online learning environments.

03

Return to a High School Environment

While the intermediate school is an energetic environment, my true passion lies in young adult learners. This step in the process may come before step 2, but if it does not, then I see it as a step I will want to take before I attempt to move into higher education. I wish to attend more conferences, create projects that benefit my entire district, and become an invaluable part of my school community. I believe that is best done in the high school setting where students can more reliably be a part of that process.

02

Develop A Specialization

ELA might be my preferred subject, but that doesn't mean I have a specialization as an educator. I would like to pursue receiving an online teaching endorsement through East Stroudsburg University. This endorsement would empower me to host online classes and perhaps deliver lectures. I could engage with a wider community of online learners and grow my skills as an educator.

04

Pursue a Doctorate

The highest degree that can be conferred to a student in the current educational system is a doctorate. I want to earn that degree. What shape that will take and what research I will do remains a mystery. I am open-minded and always looking for new ideas and opportunities.

05

Publish a Book

I have a love and passion for literature. It is my sincerest goal to one day publish a fiction or non-fiction novel through a respectable publishing house. This interest is supported by my other goals and thus comes last, but I am constantly pursuing this goal. I have already written and self-published one fiction Teen-YA novel, and I am still writing more.
