It is always fascinating and humbling to read one's old writing. This philosophy of education statement was written seven years ago at the time of this reflection, but I am pleased to find that while my practices may have improved and my skills have grown, my philosophy of education has remained constant. I believe in improving student's critical thinking skills as well as developing my own. I believe that the ELA classroom is the place to do that. I believe that critical analysis is the foundation of all learning. This artifact demonstrates not just my competency in modeling critical thinking in my own life, but my dedication in passing it on to my students.
