Professional

East Stroudsburg Area School District - East Stroudsburg, PA

December 2017 to Present

I have been an active and dedicated member of the ESASD team since 2017. I have had experience teaching grades 7 through 11 at all levels. My elective experience includes teaching journalism and SAT Prep. I have gone above and beyond regular classroom duties by coaching and leading clubs. I coached girls' soccer for two seasons through 2018 and 2019. I have judged for speech and debate, run card game clubs, and run journaling clubs. I use modern theories of instruction and gamified strategies to keep my classroom exciting and fun, going so far as to create and print a trading card game for use in classroom instruction. I have also improved the intermediate school's MTSS systems and disciplinary procedures by developing and advocating for an improved in-school-suspension curriculum.

East Stroudsburg University Writing Studio

2016-2017: Graduate Assistant

I helped manage over twenty-five tutors during the week, created tutoring video projects, and boosted online visibility. I also tutored some of the over one thousand students who come to our studio every semester. I was responsible for providing excellent tutoring services from myself and from the tutors in the studio during my shift. I designed semester projects with a team of other graduate assistants and served as a coordinator for information between the tutors and the Studio head. The culminating project for my time there was the creation of a professionally printed board game called, "Tutoropoly". At the end of my service, I was given an "Outstanding Tutor Award" for excellent tutoring skills.

Penn Skates Kidz Academy

2013+ 2015: Camp Director

I created and employed a curriculum of lessons, games, and activities that encouraged bonding, cooperation, and learning for up to twenty kids per term. I also lead a reading program through the Schlow Library where children often advanced a grade level in their reading skills over the summer.

Volunteer

Bulgaria Ministry and Humanitarian Relief

2010: Worship Leader

After attending cultural training at a camp outside of Glasgow, I traveled with several teammates to a resort in the Ural mountains of Bulgaria. We led the activities and lessons for over one hundred children. This included games, music, Bible lessons, and relief. We transported them to a local spelunking location so they could learn about geology and minerals from the local guides. After we left the resort, we aided the orphanage at the capitol, Sophia, and spoke at a church in the Turkish ghetto inside the city.

Bolivia Vacation Bible School

2007: Volunteer

Our team helped lead a Vacation Bible School for a church in Bolivia. I led crafts and storytelling for groups of about 15 children. We also performed for two churches and the Second Air Brigade of the Bolivian Air Force.

Campus

East Stroudsburg University Spanish Club

2015: Secretary

During my time as the Spanish Club Secretary, I helped organize campus activities including the ESU Global Week and the Spanish Heritage seminar. I spoke during the seminar about the song Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley and the etymology that led to the term Buffalo Soldier being applied to minority soldiers in the United States.

Disciplemakers Social Committee

2011-2014: Activity Coordinator

The Social Committee was responsible for leading and developing outreach, food, and activities for the Penn State Disciplemakers group. Over 160 students attended the meetings, and the post-group activities were often in excess of 70. I led campus-wide activities for these groups. I also worked with the committee to fundraise over $2,000 for special events and scholarships. We held weekly meetings to design outreach programs to implement for that same week.
