Master Educator Outcome 8:

Takes a leadership role in developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community.

This artifact was created, not for a grade, but out of an interest in participating in, and leading, educators. The Journal of Student Teaching is more of a tradition than an assignment, and one I was proud to be a part of. It was made by collecting images, articles, quotes, and activities from student teachers who had just finished their placements.

As one of the only graduate students in the group and a graduate assistant at the East Stroudsburg University Writing Studio, I felt it was natural for me to take on a leadership role in developing this journal. I and another editor, Lian Mlodzinski, worked tirelessly to research, edit, format, and present this journal with and for our classmates and at a teaching conference that same semester. This did not come without significant challenges, however. We both underestimated the time and attention to detail that editing such a large work would take. However, this project deepened our professional relationships, leading to long-term partnerships. I still maintain contact with my classmates who participated in the development of this journal and continue to work with them in my career.
