I had the chance to write in my notebook on the same desk Dickens would have used to write many novels including my favorites, "Great Expectations" and "Hard Times".

Shakespeare's legendary literary arena is still there and playing shows every day for 5 pounds a ticket.

This shelf in a nook under the stairs is the only section of American literature in an entire used book store. I felt slighted, but rightly so.

The bridge made infamous by the nursery rhyme, "London Bridge is Falling Down".


The cathedral is located directly across from the Tate Modern. This shot is from the far end of Millennium bridge.

The Roman Baths from Bath. Bath was constructed as a "Rome away from Rome" for the soldiers who were occupying Great Britain in the 3rd century.

The neolithic structure known as Stonehenge was not constructed by druids as many believe. Even the druids wrote around 700AD that they had know idea what the structure was. Current theory speculates it was built as a marketplace and calendar to mark the summer solstice. Much of the structure of Stonehenge is actually buried underground.

I traveled from London to Dover to see the beach, the cliffs, and the castle. The cliffs are white because they are almost completely made of chalk.
